Karl Friedrich Abel
Trawling for editions of his flute works and found Asclepius, where I ordered the John Stanley and JPH publications which has some interesting things as well. Bärenreiter have a two volume set of sonatas by Abel but their online ordering is baroque, easier to phone up the music store tomorrow.
Added link to the British Library Public Catalogue and replied to someone on the earlyflute group who is trying to find sonatas by Franz Xaver Richter, something I to tried to do a while back.

Karl Friedrich Abel.
German composer and viol player born in Cöthen in 1723, died in london in 1787. Remembered particularly for having organised a concert series in london with Johann Christian Bach presenting their own and others compositions and notably introducing Haydn's works to London. Biographies here, repertoire and a portrait by Gainsborough.

Ensemble
Trawling the net for references to Janitsch I discovered Brian Berrymans site and Ricordanza. A few mails (and some euros in an envelope) later and i'm listening to their cd of Quartets for flute and oboe by both Janitzch and Johann Christian Bach and excellent it is too. The cd is recorded by Dubringhaus and Grimm in their Reflections series.
I've reorganised the links on the right a little to start a section specialy for ensembles with flute.

The Photobloggies Rannie Turingan of Photojunkie has had
the bright idea of doing a 2002 Photobloggies award and has included a
pencam category.
Here's what he has to say about it.
"As many of you are aware, photoblogs were not added in as a category
in the bloggies this year. It was a big surprise as the photoblogging
community has rapidly grown in the past twelve months. I definitely
thought there was a niche here that needed to be filled, at least for
this year. After a little push from Marc North and a bit of
contemplation, I have decided to do my own awards, The Photobloggies.
I thought it was important to recognize the amazing work of others in
our photoblogging community over the past year."
More details and a form for your nominations are to be found here
http://www.photojunkie.org/photobloggies/
So there you are, a chance to show your appreciation to the sites you
have enjoyed this last year and perhaps discover some new ones you didn't know.
I would of course be terribly chuffed if anybody was kind enough to
nominate Oates for Tanger. ahem.
